This year marks a major milestone for the Montessori School of Northampton: it’s our 50th anniversary! Fifty years ago, Sylvia Kriebel founded The Children’s House as a model of quality education based on the Montessori Method. Since then, our school has grown.
- In 1987, the school moved to its current location in Northampton after dedicated parents renovated the historic farmhouse into a two-room schoolhouse.
- In 1993, we launched our Elementary program and officially changed our name to the Montessori School of Northampton.
- Throughout the 90s, the main building underwent two major expansions to accommodate growing enrollment.
- In 2010, MSN acquired land across the street to expand our campus, culminating in the launch of our Middle School program in 2016.
- Today, MSN proudly serves ~120 students aged 15 months to 14 years.
We remain true to our mission of providing an authentic Montessori education, nurturing inquisitive, caring, engaged, confident, and responsible citizens of the global community.
