Substitute Teachers

The Montessori School of Northampton is looking for on-call substitutes who have experience with early childhood education and are available to fill in various gaps in our scheduling. Substitute teachers cover our Montessori classrooms, with ages ranging from 18 months to 8th grade. Substitutes work with other classroom teachers or follow plans given by classroom teachers to oversee.

This position can involve full and partial day shifts, ranging from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday availability is a plus, but substitute applicants are welcome to apply even if they are only available for select days.

A successful candidate must possess:

  • Interest in and knowledge of Montessori education.

  • Interest or a concentration in early childhood education.

  • Effective communication skills-both written and spoken; strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; flexibility, warmth, and sense of humor.

  • Ability to pass a background check.
